Background of Founder

VCBEATS Multimedia began while Harris was studying Electronic Media & Film Studies at Eastern Michigan University. After initially using his camera to document his life on campus life and day to day experiences, student organizations and event curators began requesting his services to film and edit their events. Those opportunities led Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. to hire Harris to cover the Motor City Step Show at Chene Park Amphitheatre in Detroit. While covering the event, he interviewed Bad Boy recording artist Yung Joc. The interview was later featured on AllHipHop.com and generated more than 12,000 views.Harris continued expanding into entertainment coverage, producing interviews and video content featuring major artists such as Kanye West, J. Cole, Nas, Devin the Dude, Raekwon, and members of the Wu-Tang Clan, while developing a YouTube channel that amassed more than 500,000 views.

WORKING WITH 50 CENT AND G-UNIT

In 2010, Harris began working with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson's G-Unit Records as an intern in the promotions department. While working with G-Unit, Harris looked for opportunities to contribute beyond traditional promotional work. During a trip to New York City, he helped coordinate promotion for Lloyd Banks' Hunger for More 2 at BET's 106 & Park before visiting the G-Unit offices in Manhattan. His video work eventually opened another door. Harris began producing content as a videographer and video editor for Thisis50.com, G-Unit's digital media platform.

FROM CONSUMER TO CORPORATE CLIENTELE

After graduating from college, Harris took a hospitality position at Detroit Pistons games, serving courtside guests. His goal was to build relationships and eventually find his way into the arena’s video department. Harris successfully navigated that transition and began gaining professional production experience working around Pistons and Red Wings games. While working in the video department, Harris reconnected with a friend he had known since middle school who later became his mentor. At the time, VCBEATS Multimedia primarily served individual clients, but through that mentorship, Harris learned how to position the company for corporate production work. That shift expanded his experience beyond independent event coverage and led to opportunities connected with companies such as General Motors.

BUILDING AN AUDIENCE THROUGH DIGITAL MEDIA

YouTube became an important part of VCBEATS Multimedia's growth. Rather than building the channel around one type of content, Harris used it to document the different worlds of VCBEATS—from music and entertainment to professional wrestling, interviews, live events and behind-the-scenes production.Harris independently filmed, interviewed, edited and packaged much of the content, helping the VCBEATS YouTube channel grow to more than 3,200 subscribers and 538,000 views across 225+ videos. The experience helped shape VCBEATS Multimedia's approach today: capturing compelling moments and turning them into digital content designed to connect with an audience.538K+ VIEWS · 3.2K+ SUBSCRIBERS · 225+ VIDEOS
